Adrien Antoine: who is the actor?
Adrien Antoine was born on April 29, 1980, in Champigny-sur-Marne, in the Val-de-Marne department. He says so himself in a 2022 joint interview with Eklecty-City: “I was born on April 29, 1980, in Champigny-sur-Marne.” AlloCiné and French Wikipedia give the same date. He has worked in dubbing since 1990. You also hear him dubbing Chris Hemsworth, Sam Worthington, Ashton Kutcher, Zachary Quinto — and, since Man of Steel, Henry Cavill.
This page is about his voice, not the face. Henry Cavill has his own article. Antoine does not appear on screen: he voices Clark and Superman in French, at the Dubbing Brothers studios. Among the actors of the Superman universe, he fills the French-dub column. The title of this page runs from Man of Steel to Justice League: as we'll see further down, his Superman voice starts before and carries on after.

Adrien Antoine in Man of Steel (2013)
As early as April 2013, AlloDoublage announced that Antoine would voice Henry Cavill in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. The dub was directed by Marie-Christine Chevalier, who had already worked on the redubs of the Reeve films, on Superman Returns, and on all ten seasons of Smallville. Recording took place at Dubbing Brothers. Cavill's AlloDoublage page confirms the credit.
Around him, Caroline Victoria voices Amy Adams as Lois. Bernard Lanneau voices Kevin Costner as Jonathan. Emmanuel Jacomy voices Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Xavier Fagnon voices Michael Shannon as Zod. These names come from AlloDoublage's April and June 2013 news briefs.
AlloDoublage also notes that, on the film's third and final trailer, Cavill's voice switches from Thibault Belfodil to Antoine, and that the site's readers were already calling for that change. It isn't a trophy. It's a dated fact from a specialist forum. The film has its own page: we won't go over it again. Here, the French-dub credit on Cavill starts in 2013.
2016: Antoine voices Cavill again in Batman v Superman
Three years later, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens. On the film's page, AlloDoublage lists Henry Cavill / Clark Kent / Superman → Adrien Antoine. French Wikipedia and laVF.fr say the same. Dubbing direction passes to Michel Derain. The studio remains Dubbing Brothers.
Caroline Victoria returns as Lois. Boris Rehlinger voices Ben Affleck. Ingrid Donnadieu voices Gal Gadot. Donald Reignoux voices Jesse Eisenberg. Hélène Chanson voices Diane Lane. This French-dub cast is not the subject. It only shows that Antoine is not there for a single film: he is Cavill's voice across an entire saga.
The title of our page says “from Man of Steel to Justice League.” 2016 is the middle film. We do not retell the duel, or Doomsday, or the Senate. We stick to the credit: same voice actor, same on-screen actor, second film together.
Justice League (2017): the film named in the title
Henry Cavill's AlloDoublage page lists Justice League (2017): Clark Kent / Superman / Kal-El, dubbing direction by Hervé Rey, Warner Bros France. French Wikipedia and laVF.fr credit Antoine with that role. The title of this page is therefore accurate at both ends: 2013 and 2017. Cavill is indeed voiced by Antoine in both films.
We do not retell the League's story here, or the Whedon cut, or Superman's place on the team. The film has other pages. Here, one line: in theaters, in 2017, the French voice of Cavill in the cape is still Antoine.
Hervé Rey then returns for Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021). This time, AlloDoublage spells out Antoine's name in the French-voice column. Same on-screen actor, a different cut, same French voice. The title of our page stops before that film: we point it out, but we do not change the title.
After Justice League: Snyder Cut and Black Adam cameo
In 2021, the Snyder Cut re-edits Cavill scenes that had already been filmed; the actor shot nothing new for this cut. AlloDoublage, French Wikipedia, and laVF.fr credit the French dub to Antoine, with Hervé Rey directing. This is not a third Superman: it is the same voice actor on another version of the same Justice League film.
In 2022, Cavill makes a cameo in Black Adam. French Wikipedia and laVF.fr still credit Antoine as his voice. The Cavill AlloDoublage page consulted for this article stops before 2022: we say so. The cameo credit therefore rests on two filmography sources, not on the AlloDoublage brief. We phrase it that way, without making up a scene.
The Superman versus Black Adam duel has its own character page. Here, we don't settle anything. We note that, in the French dub, Antoine is the voice of that cameo according to Wikipedia and laVF. Nothing more.
Batman from 2004, animated Superman between 2016 and 2020
Before Cavill, Antoine was already a DC voice. French Wikipedia dates his start as Batman to 2004, in most of the animated films and video games. In 2022, he told Eklecty-City he was 24 when he was chosen — consistent with a 1980 birth. This is not Affleck's Batman in theaters: it is the animated character, and the games.
From 2016 to 2020, the same Wikipedia page credits him with several animated Supermen, while Emmanuel Jacomy — the usual French voice of Superman, notably in the 1990s series — takes over Batman from him. Antoine returns to Batman in 2021. We won't reproduce the whole wiki list here. One title ties in with the blog: Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2020).
The detail matters. Antoine has not always been “the” French voice of Superman. Jacomy covers a large part of the animated catalog. Antoine is Superman's theatrical voice on Routh (2006) and then on Cavill, and one of animated Superman's voices over a 2016-2020 window. Two columns, one actor.
Beyond the cape: Cavill, Hemsworth, Worthington
AlloDoublage lists Antoine as a regular voice of Henry Cavill, including outside Superman: Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), August Walker in Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018), Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes (2020), Geralt in The Witcher. When you hear Cavill in French in those titles, it's often the same voice as Clark's.
French Wikipedia and the 2022 interview add Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Sam Worthington, Ashton Kutcher, Adrien Brody, Zachary Quinto. We do not turn that into a directory. In fact, in 2013, AlloDoublage ran its news brief under the headline “Adrien Antoine Returns to Superman!”: he had already dubbed Routh in 2006.
Eklecty-City quotes him on the pleasure of voicing Cavill and Hemsworth, without spinning a theory out of it. We stick to the credits. If you follow the Superman films in order, the face changes (Reeve, Routh, Cavill, Corenswet). The French dub changes too: Antoine doesn't voice Reeve, but he dubs Routh and then Cavill.
Don't mix them up: Antoine, Cavill, Jacomy
Adrien Antoine is not Henry Cavill. One speaks the lines in French. The other acts in front of the camera. Mixing them up means mistaking the dub for the film. Cavill has his page; Antoine has this one.
Antoine is not Emmanuel Jacomy. Jacomy is the French voice of Superman in much of the animation, including the 1990s series. Between 2016 and 2020, the two swap places: Antoine takes on animated Supermen, Jacomy takes Batman. In 2013, Jacomy even voices Jor-El in Man of Steel while Antoine voices Clark. Father and son, two actors.
He is not Tim Daly or Jack Quaid either: they are original English-language voices. He is, however, the voice of Brandon Routh in Superman Returns (2006): AlloDoublage, French Wikipedia, and laVF.fr credit him. So before Cavill, he had already dubbed Superman in theaters.
The Superman credits list, film by film
After Routh in Superman Returns (2006), here is what can be backed by two dubbing sources, for Cavill in the cape:
- 2013 — Man of Steel: AlloDoublage + French Wikipedia + laVF; dubbing director Marie-Christine Chevalier.
- 2016 — Batman v Superman: AlloDoublage + French Wikipedia + laVF; dubbing director Michel Derain.
- 2017 — Justice League: AlloDoublage + French Wikipedia + laVF; dubbing director Hervé Rey.
- 2021 — Zack Snyder's Justice League (the Snyder Cut): AlloDoublage (Antoine named) + French Wikipedia + laVF; dubbing director Hervé Rey.
- 2022 — Black Adam cameo: French Wikipedia + laVF, with no AlloDoublage entry in the export we consulted.
The RS Doublage pages for the 2013 and 2016 films exist and confirm Dubbing Brothers; the public excerpt does not always show the Cavill line. So we do not cite them as proof of the name. For the 2016-2020 animation, we stick to the Wikipedia window, plus Apokolips War. The title “from Man of Steel to Justice League” is accurate. It is not complete.

Is Adrien Antoine the only French voice of Superman?

Conclusion
Adrien Antoine dubs Cavill as Superman from 2013, returns to him in 2016 and 2017, then on the Snyder Cut. The title of this page is accurate, but incomplete: the voice starts as early as 2006 with Routh and carries on after 2017. Jacomy remains the other major French voice of the character.
Cavill has his own article. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and the Snyder Cut have theirs. Here, we stay with the voice actor from Champigny: one voice, Routh in 2006 and then five caped credits on Cavill, and a clear line between the face and the French dub.
